A writer's hideout

| Nov. 14th, 2009 11:00 am *giggles* This is what I do when I should be working on a group project and my home exam. I'm also going to go visit work and sis later today. Oi. But for now...

| Nov. 13th, 2009 12:16 pm ... Noooo...! Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility dropped into my mailbox three days ago. THANK YOU LORD :D I really needed something new.
As usual, you can get married. You know which people you can marry because there's little stars twinkling around them the first time you talk to them.
Let me restate that in layman's terms.
Your possible future spouses SPARKLE.

| Nov. 10th, 2009 10:02 am I'm a cold hearted old wench, apparently... ... at least when it comes to fiction.
( Gather 'round the GM, children )
And now I better get going with all the things I need to get done today. Current Mood: busy

| Nov. 7th, 2009 08:32 pm Gimme the Pally Rangers back! Sooo... the tier 10 paladin gear is really dark and adorned with firebreathing/-crying skulls.
And Tirion Fordring is wearing it in the Icecrown raid.
...
Okay. Current Mood: drained

| Oct. 31st, 2009 09:14 pm Let's get reeeal silly :D
Being home at the 'rents causes unusual things to happen. Mainly that I watch TV, which never happens when I'm home (granny never seems to pick up on this because she keeps asking both sis and me if we've seen this or that show). Mum was watching "Körslaget" - "The Choir Battle" - when I got home from visiting filthyjinx. It's a show where Swedish artists go out and audition people off the streets in their hometowns, make a choir out of them, and perform songs on a weekly basis where the viewers get to vote on who continues towards the finals. It's one of those kinda fun things that I don't bother with but don't mind watching.
Come to think of it, a lot of Swedish contests involves artists trying to answer questions and doing charades etc for our amusement. We've got a lot of 'em being able to laugh at themselves.
Aaanyway, back to the choir battle thingy... watching it reminded me of the trailer for the last season, which was pretty much made of win. Yes, they are completely and uterly making fun of themselves, because it's nowhere near serious enough to warrant... this.
EPIC. IT IS THIS :D

| Oct. 29th, 2009 04:55 pm This was not in my contract! Today I was put to taking care of the children's paper workshop. HOOORAY. Bonus points for the kid who asked me to help her and then immediately asked why I wasn't cleaning one of the tables. Oookay. Then she asked me if I ever changed the table cloth because they looked dirty. I said I would that evening. She immediately asked me why I would change the table cloths.
K... i... d... s...?
Oh well, no more of that. But since my head and body are in a decent amount of discomfort, let's have a little looksie at an upcoming fic with a scene taken out of context just to share the pain.
( This isn't what it looks like! )

| Oct. 21st, 2009 08:45 pm Doood. Finished Dragon Quest: Swords. That was brutally short. Not as short as NiGHTS, but still. Is that a trend with all the next generation consoles? I understand that the desperate demand for top-notch graphics forces them to cut down on other things (one of the main reasons I don't care for great graphics), but you'd think that with the Wii not having the same abilities of the PS3 and 360 it wouldn't be so apparent.
Ugh.
Oh well. It was fun while it lasted, though it definitely left me with a "That's IT?" feeling. You could claim that even the FIRST DQ game had a more complicated plot. You did have to run off to save the princess. I can dig it though. Simple and clean, and for a classic series. I liked the style of it too, and I hope they'll develope it in future games by giving you and the enemies more freedom.
Hmm. Suppose I could get that new Harvest Moon game. That should hold me over for quite a while when WoW feels boring. And with "new" I mean Tree of Tranquility. Goddamn you slow PAL conversions!
I'm still amazed that the hero didn't look like Son Goku.
He looked like that android chick Krillin married. Current Mood: bouncy

| Oct. 20th, 2009 06:39 pm Oy vey. I think I'm having an autum/winter depression but it takes the form of low sizzling anger instead of depression. That's a good thing I suppose.
In a more lighthearted tone... I dunno, does anybody still care about Naruto? I sure don't, but sometimes you just hear stuff that blows your mind from ( you're doing it wroooong! )
And I'd say some more things about that but while writing it I realized that I'm pretty much going to do something similar myself soon, though hopefully in a more dignified manner. Current Mood: blank

| Oct. 17th, 2009 09:29 am Put down the Lovecraft! Ew, ew, ew... I highly doubt that I'll be raiding Icecrown Citadel at any point.
So, to the rest of you, have fun fighting this thing in my stead. Have fun, lovelies! /kiss
People are freaking out over the new warlock tier stuff too. Something about looking like a cross between Orco (He-man) and Vivi (FF9). Awwww ^___^ Current Mood: blank

Let me repeat that.
Somebody has written Fandral/Garrosh slash.
Yes. It IS marked parody.
I am still frightened to look, yet I am highly amused.
Ah yes, right... studying for that exam thing. Yes. Current Mood: giggly

| Oct. 7th, 2009 09:12 am Right, here we are "when I get home" is a very relative term, mind you. Here's a summary of the official words about the rumors of Cataclysm, with quotes, and discussion by frothing lore na- nerds. Yeah, nerds. ;)
"I will also say that while I have read a large number of rumors and speculation concerning what's to come, I haven't seen a single one that has the progresson of events or the reasons behind them correct."
I think Blizz thinks we're teh silleh XD
Also Tirion Fordring likes to get groups of people together and name them stuff. According to the preview for the next patch, next we'll collect emblems for the Ashen Verdict! Hooray? *throws up hands*
Now I have two days free for studies for the exam on Friday. Score! Current Mood: busy

| Oct. 2nd, 2009 10:48 am Phew... ohwaitshit The good news is that you can all disregard that last open post, it seems to be just a bunch of hot air rumours.
The bad news is, there's a blue post on the official forums (I'll post a link later when I get home wtf why am I writing this while in the uni library oh right I have nothing to do until class but anyway)... yeah, Warchief Garrosh.
Guuuuh.
But the blue post also says that we haven't seen all of him yet (oh this better be EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD), aaand there's a hint at that the Icecrown raid won't be the end of WotLK.
...

| Sep. 28th, 2009 07:18 am ... we're doomed. There are some new spoilers for Cataclysm out, and from the way people were screaming, I was scared to look. I still haven't, but I couldn't avoid this bit.
( Where the HELL is Saurfang?! )
They did it. I can't believe it but they did it. They've made Varian Wrynn look sensible and understanding of basic tactical tact in compare. At least he knows how to keep his own allies somewhat not wanting to gut him. Current Mood: indescribable

| Sep. 24th, 2009 02:45 pm Aw, why the heck not? I've got cookie rolls in the fridge waiting to be cold enough to be properly cut up to nummies ^_^
In the meantime, nabbed from otana... hit meh with a fandom, peeps! :D
• One True Pairing Ship: • Canon Ship: • "If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: • "You are one sick puppy" Ship: • "I dabble a little" Ship: • "It's like a car crash" Ship: • "Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: • "Makes no canon sense but why the heck not" Ship: • "Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship:
This made me mentally go through a brief list of games and stuff I've liked in the past.
Good going, brain. I had purposefully forgotten about writing a gag fic with Vagrant Story mpreg. And I remember that Hanna is to blame, too. Curse yooou!
Also I have to feel for Onyxia. Even if we didn't manage to down her yesterday, everyone and their mother were there to do it. It's like a dragon slayer Christmas. Also I'm now exalted with Timbermaw, so I'm down to ONE GODDAMN QUEST. And I know where you are, my pretty, yesss, yesss we do. Thrall yelled all across Orgrimmar that I'm awesome. Totally worth murdering all those angry teddybears for *swoon* Current Mood: chipper

| Sep. 18th, 2009 05:09 pm Curses, foiled again! ... I really should have added the new gamecard yesterday when I bought it, shouldn't I?
Because now I'm out of time... and the account management is down for maintance.

Maybe it's a sign from the powers that be that I should either study or work on Diplomacy. Current Mood: annoyed

| Sep. 17th, 2009 09:49 am Inhaling This is my first free day this week. Next is on Sunday. And it must be spent getting shit done that I haven't had the energy to do for the last couple of weeks or so. Feel like I've gone through a tumbler. I need a proper weekend.
Well, the good news is that my first piece of homework passed and the teacher found it interesting :) I've still got the magic! *flex* Disregarding the fact that it was easy as pie.
Mmm, pie...
I'd like to bake something, but in between cleaning, doing dishes, going shopping for an assload of stuff and washing clothes, I think it's counted out. Now, Sunday shall be spent lazing about properly.
Oh, I'm down to 25 quests in Kalimdor :D Too bad I've been in a daze doing most of them lately XP
1. Make a topic about the fact that I've bought a laptop on RPGC 2. Name thread "Weiila has a baby!" 3. Watch reactions 4. PROFIT!
I count getting Ciddy to call me evil, almost giving Wil a heartattack, making Sin freeze, Shalcar almost choke on his drink etc etc and introducing my old pals to the term "crotch dumpling" as profit >3 Current Mood: drained

| Sep. 11th, 2009 12:16 pm It's a trap! We've so far gotten two written assignments on my Master's course. I'm halfway done with the one due next week. It's just cobbling together some info on a random article to prove that we understand the process of finding scientific articles. It's pretty much just writing an article summary and present how I went about finding this thing.
The other assignment is bigger and should consist of 12 000 words-
Wait
Not words.
12 000 letters, INCLUDING spaces? Jesus, you get 2000 for just a little more than half a page! And we're talking 4000 per article to discuss. That's NOTHING.
This all seems waaay too easy. *shifty eyes*
(I'm probably going to get shot for saying this, aren't I?)
Of course, I have yet to start writing, but anyway...
Offhand, it must have been waaaay too long since I sat down and wrote something when I find myself looking at my fingers flying over the keyboard and thinking "when did I learn to write THIS fast?" I know I've said it before but I love the sound of the keyboard clicking. ^_^
Guh. I really wish I wasn't working this weekend. Oh well. Monies! 2 comments - Leave a comment | |

| Sep. 9th, 2009 07:06 pm Food goddammit! Finally something new to my palate, that was quite a while ago. OMG chanterelles are delicious why have I neglected to notice this for twenty-seven years?! Well I've eaten them before, but not cooked like they should be, as I have now done - with enough butter to deepfry them XD
And now, my real story of the day.
While waiting for the train yesterday, I went to a huge ol' bookstore and just browsed what they had. A book called "The Fantasy Artist's Bible" caught my eye and I went to flip through it just for fun. The first picture in it, which was also the first step-by-step lesson on how to draw action, depicted a mostly naked Amazon woman fighting a tentacle monster.
I should be less surprised, I really should. Current Mood: blank
